The idea of our 2nd album “Choirs to Heaven” was born with “Consent of Cult”. It was the first album track we made at the start of the album process. We experimented a lot with our new Prophet 6 synth but wanted a rougher and edgier approach than to what we did before. This song is supposed to provoke an emotional response in the listener that combines the best of our previous work, the harshness and edge, as well as the new electronics and songwriting arrangements.

The beginning and the end are completely different from the main track but we understood that both parts need each other to make the song a whole. The lyrics are inspired by a short story of Albert Camus called “A sea close by” and it’s a beautifully written train of thought by Camus who describes the landscapes and the calm of the sea from a very inspiring day-dream perspective. It gave us the feeling that we have to free us of some burden and find ourselves again in a free and naked life in order to be spiritually reborn.
